Thomas Turney received his degree in photojournalism from Kent State University. He has worked on several newspapers over the years including 9 years as a photographer at the Savannah Moring News. He has worked mainly in the U.S. but has shot assignments abroad including conflict in Northern Ireland and daily life in China. He has shot for many other mass media including Atlanta Magazine, and MSNBC. His work has won him many awards from the Associated Press awards to those from the National Press Photographers Association.

Learning to ‘see’ interesting detail is a practiced skill and we introduce you to easy methods that will open your photographer’s eye and expose you to a world that is alive with detail. The most rewarding part of the class is learning how to approach interesting people and have them willingly pose for you.
Aaron is a Photographer and Cinematographer that started by taking photos of local musicians and worked his way up to shooting for well known artists including The Fitz and The Tantrums and Post Malone. From live music Aaron has worked into documentary style portraiture, film making and much more. With vast experience in many forms of photo and video work, he now instructs beginner and advanced creatives alike, striving to instill a cinematic and personal story into their work.

So you've got your first camera and you're so excited to go out and take photos! But wait...what are all those buttons? What is ISO and how do I make the screen brighter??
This class is for those just starting out, those who have only recently started and even those who might just want to learn a new trick or two!
We will go over ALL the basics of taking good photos. This includes subjects such as ISO, Shutter speed, Aperture, Basics of lighting, Creating depth, the importance of story and so much more.
Our goal for you is to leave this class with an abundance of knowledge and practice under your belt to expedite your growth in the photography industry!

Natural lighting makes for some truly amazing portraits...but so does studio styled lighting!
So why not learn to mix both for some STUNNING photos!?
This course will take a look at some basics of lighting and how to use an off camera speedlight to take better portraits outdoors.
Portraiture Photography with Natural Lighting - Art Hill at the St. Louis Art Museum - 9am - 2 hours
Nothing looks as good as a naturally lit portrait in a outdoor setting! But becoming proficient at handling uncontrollable lighting conditions is difficult without some solid direction.
This course will help you understand the basics of lighting and how they can be applied in "uncontrollable" settings. We will take a look at everything from backlighting and camera settings to basic posing and location scouting for the absolute best photos!
